Peace on Earth,

A happy life,

Wealth and prosperity,

A husband or wife.

To wake with a smile,

And have kids of their own.

To never be lonely,

Even if they're alone.

To have close friends

In whom they can trust.

To know the difference

Between love and lust.

To be gracious in victory

And brave in defeat.

To embrace all the changes

In life that they'll meet.

But above all else,

For my child I wish,

For the whole of their life,

My true hope is this:

That they never be hostage

To regretful hindsight,

And can sleep in their bed

Soundly each night.
