I glare around at the laughter with green eyes.

Those that can walk past in merriment

those who can saunter by without care

are the targets of my gaze, the anger I feel.

My heart feels torn apart, shattered and bruised

I punish myself every second I breathe.

My breath is agony and I look at you.

You seem happy, carefree, like those gone by.

Am I the only one that can see the darkness

the fear behind your shining eyes?

I swipe at the tears flowing down my cheeks,

I am angry, now more than ever before.

I throw the rose, a futile parting gift

to the ground, the dirt where you lay.

It is not a suitable end, but we all leave this way.

I turn from you and leave the graveyard. Goodbye.
